About
Morgan Stevens believes that every adolescent and family deserves to feel valued, supported, and capable of healing. Her clinical approach is calm, adaptable, and meeting-focused, guiding young men at a comfortable pace while encouraging accountability and growth. Having previously served as a front-line residential supervisor at Oxbow Academy, Morgan brings deep insight into adolescent behaviors and holds firm boundaries and high expectations in treatment.
She places a strong emphasis on future-focused work, using goal-setting and vision boards early in therapy to help boys recognize their potential. Understanding that past trauma is often at the root of current challenges, Morgan utilizes Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) from the start of treatment to process past wounds and help clients heal their inner child. She brings a hands-on, experiential style into her practice, often taking sessions outdoors, walking the grounds, visiting the horses, and integrating Sand Tray therapy. Morgan maintains daily, close communication with residential, academic, and medical teams to ensure holistic, cohesive care for every student. Her practice incorporates Adlerian, Jungian, CBT, DBT, Gestalt, and Child-Centered Play Therapy techniques adapted for adolescents.
Morgan is a Certified Social Worker (CSW) with 4 years of experience in adolescent care and mental healthcare. She earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Louisiana State University.
Morgan began her work at Oxbow Academy in 2020 as a youth mentor and supervisor at East House, an experience that inspired her to pursue a clinical degree. After completing her graduate education and practicing in a private therapy setting with children, adolescents, and young adults, she returned to Oxbow Academy as a therapist. Her specialized training and therapeutic toolset include Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Child-Centered Play Therapy, Sand Tray therapy, Adlerian therapy, Jungian techniques, Trauma-Informed care, CBT, and DBT.
As a parent herself, Morgan empathizes with the courage and trust required for families to place their child in residential care, and she is committed to maintaining constant communication so parents feel connected throughout the therapeutic journey. Outside of her work at Oxbow, Morgan is deeply family-oriented and outdoorsy. She loves spending time with her family, going on adventures, cooking, creating, and making others smile. On a free day, she is most likely up in the mountains with her family.
