About
Chelsea Ross was drawn to Oxbow Academy by a desire to work with adolescents struggling with sex-specific concerns, focusing on early intervention to prevent abusive cycles and generational trauma. Her clinical approach is defined by patience, empathy, personability, and a nonjudgmental stance, creating a safe environment where students can process complex challenges. In her therapeutic work and leadership as Assistant Clinical Director, Chelsea incorporates evidence-based modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Chelsea is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) with 5 to 10 years of experience in adolescent and mental healthcare. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Utah Valley University and is a professional member of the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP).
Prior to joining the clinical team at Oxbow Academy, Chelsea worked in an outpatient setting providing specialized therapy for court-mandated adults required to participate in treatment for sexual offending. This background laid the foundation for her expertise in sex addiction, boundaries, and healthy behavioral development.
Chelsea is deeply family-oriented. Outside of her professional role at Oxbow, she spends most of her free time with her husband and their three children. Her personal hobbies include exercising, reading, and baking.
