Cindy Lynn Johansen teaches English and History at Oxbow. She also teaches English and Choir at North Sanpete Middle School. Cindy graduated from Utah State University. She earned a Bachelor of Science in English Literature with a minor in Music.
Cindy has been teaching for 24 years. She enjoys working at Oxbow because “I love to work with kids and watch them learn and grow. This program is the perfect opportunity for kids to make a new start and to see what they are really capable of achieving.”
Cindy is not easily offended. She can change plans on the spur of the moment. This is a useful skill for a teacher. If one teaching method is not working for a student, Cindy changes the way she teaches. She feels that “as a teacher, I believe that every student is able to learn and succeed, it’s finding what works best for that student and helping them learn to use that strength and practice to make their weaknesses into strengths.”
Before becoming a teacher, Cindy worked at a title company as a typist. She also worked as a flagger, a roller operator for a construction company, and as a waitress. Cindy loves to teach. She loves to work with kids and watch them learn and grow. As a teacher, Cindy believes that every student is able to learn and succeed.
Cindy considers sarcasm and snarkiness to be one of her strengths. In her free time, she loves to read, spend time with family, and travel.
