Helping students realize they are part of a larger community is an important aspect of Oxbow Academy’s treatment protocol. Community service activities are opportunities for our students to develop a sense of belonging, pride and accountability.
Our activities are as diverse as the need. Shoveling snowy walks for senior citizens, Christmas caroling, and hauling hay are just a few of the ways Oxbow students give back to their community. Students are also conducting a clothing drive and making quilts. They plan to donate these items to families in need.
These projects help students see beyond themselves and their problems. They experience a new application of the Collective Principle while they build leadership skills and self-esteem.
If you would prefer to discuss your situation with a counselor, we invite you to call Erin Nester, our admissions counselor, at (435) 469-0683.
