“The thing I like best about my job is seeing the progress students make and being able to help them understand how to apply what they are learning to their own life.” That’s how Cory Dixon feels about his job at Oxbow Academy.

His career began with a degree in electronics from Salt Lake Community College. He went on to Utah Valley University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Management. Since then, he’s completed licensure requirements for Special Education certifications from Brigham Young University and Prescott College.

Born in Salt Lake City, Cory has lived in Utah County for more than 20 years. He and his wife are the parents of six children. When he’s not working at Oxbow, Cory enjoys raising goats and chickens on the family farm. He also likes working in the garden and watching science fiction shows.

Cory won’t be on the farm forever. His dream is visit the Great Barrier Reef for some scuba diving and to join his extended family for a cruise.
